unnamed-4 In case you didn’t know, I was born and raised in the beautiful country of Chile. (As in South America Chile not chili beans Chile). Now that I live in the US, I want to make sure that my kids learn about my country, the culture, the food, the traditions, and the language, and hopefully they can learn to love and appreciate Chile as much as I do 🙂 // En caso de que no sepan, yo naci y fui criada en el hermoso pais de Chile. Ahora que vivo en los Estados Unidos, quiero que mis hijos aprendan acerca de mi pais, de mi cultura, de la comida, de las tradiciones, y el idioma. Ojala puedan aprender a amar y apreciar a mi pais tanto como yo 🙂

We decorated our mantel with Chilean flags. // Decoramos con este lindo cartel de arriba

And we decided to have a week-long menu of traditional Chilean meals for dinner.// Y pensamos en tener una semana de comida tradicional Chilena 🙂

These porotos granados were AMAZING! And not hard to cook // Estos porotos granados quedaron riquisimos, y no fueron dificiles de cocinar.

One of my favorite Chilean staples (similar to a shepherd’s pie), ‘Pastel de Papas,’ or Potato Cake.’ // Una de mis comidas favoritas: El pastel de papas.

We had these delicious ‘alfajores’ made by a Chilean friend. // Estos alfajores que hizo una amiga estaban RIQUISIMOS!

We celebrated at a Chilean party with the fam.// Celebramos en una ramada con la familia

We talked about Chile, listened to Chilean songs, and danced La Cueca. Hablamos de Chile, escuchamos canciones tipicas, y bailamos La Cueca 🙂
