Even though this year’s 4th of July celebration will be slightly different than previous years for most people, in our home will be celebrating it with some fun patriotic food! I have compiled 5 fun food ideas that have been a hit in our home in past years for both old and young. They are some of my favorites treats because they are fun, yummy, but more than anything….easy to make!

1. FLAG PLATTER

This fun dish only needs strawberries, blueberries and some yogurt or white chocolate covered pretzels. You can usually find the pretzels at the candy alley at the grocery store, not by the regular pretzels.

2. STAR CHOCOLATE LOLLIPOPS

These yummy lollies are yummy, colorful and the best part is that you can make them ahead of time. You will need a candy mold (plastic or silicone) in the shape of stars, lollipop sticks, and some red white and blue candy melts or white chocolate with red and blue food coloring. I used a styrofoam as a stand (cheaper than an actual lollipop stand), and I found the candy mold and candy melts at Hobby Lobby.

3. STAR SKEWERS

These healthy, fun and yummy treats only need a star-shaped cookie cutter, a watermelon, some blueberries, and skewers. Cut the watermelon in thin slices and have fun with it!

4. STAR-SPANGLED PLATE

This is a variation of the star skewers above. If you don’t have skewers (or want to make this plate as well), just spread the watermelon stars with the blueberries on a white plate. Here I used two different sized cookie cutters to cut the watermelon for a more dramatic effect.

5. WATERMELON LIMONADA

Make a refreshing and delicious watermelon drink with the left over watermelon pieces from the stars treats. In a blender, combine the watermelon (3-4 cups), water, 1 cup of agave, honey, or sugar, the juice of half a lemon or lime, 1-2 cups of ice, push the on button and voila! You can skip the lemon or lime if you prefer a pure watermelon flavor.

I hope you found these fun and useful to you! Let me know in the comments if you made any of these and how they turned out. I’d love to see your pictures! Don’t forget to pin this post on your 4th of July Pinterest board for future reference. I hope you have a happy and safe 4th of July!
